Dr. Mona Mojtahedzadeh, M.D., is a board-certified psychiatrist and consultation-liaison specialist, humanitarian, and educator, dedicated to whole-person care in oncology and beyond. With a medical degree from Shahid Beheshti University and psychiatry training at Texas Tech and Loma Linda, she further specialized at USC in psycho-oncology, reproductive psychiatry, palliative medicine, and HIV psychiatry.With an added certificate in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and is deeply involved in advancing mental health equity, clinician well-being, and holistic healing reflected in her over 40 scholarly contributions and community advocacy.Dr. Mojtahedzadeh’s work spans UCLA and City of Hope, where she focused on psycho-oncology and integrative psychiatric care. With a deep commitment to community advocacy, she continues to bridge the gap between mental health, medicine, and cultural sensitivity.

Lisa Kring is an LCSW (MSW- USC), in private clinical practice, specializing in trauma, anxiety, stress, chronic and terminal illness, grief and caregiver support. She is trained in Hakomi Somatic Mindful Psychotherapy, as well as attachment and transpersonal psychotherapy, and is a certified death doula. Lisa is also a committed practitioner of mindfulness meditation in the Theravada Buddhist tradition for over 20 years, and a senior mindfulness teacher for over 15 years, primarily with InsightLA. Lisa is a graduate of both the Dedicated Practitioner’s Program and the Advanced Practitioner’s Program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center. She received teacher lineage transmission/authorization from Jack Kornfield in 2017, and teaches mindfulness classes of all kinds as a certified teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Awakening Joy, Mindful Self Compassion and A Year To Live. She has studied and practiced with Jon Kabat-Zinn, Joseph Goldstein, Guy Armstrong, and the Bhikko Analayo, among others, Lisa also facilitates mindfulness groups and classes with people touched by cancer for over ten years at the SIMMS/MANN Center for Integrative Oncology at UCLA and the Benjamin Center Cancer Support Community in Santa Monica. Her teaching as led her to mindfulness trainings in corporate settings, such as William Morris Endeavor, ABC News, Citibank, Hulu and Huffington Post, to name a few. Lisa is certified in Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness and Polyvagal Trauma Therapy, and is a recent graduate of the 2023-24 California Institute of Integral Studies Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and Research Certification Program, and is trained in KAP (Ketamine-Assisted Therapy) through the Polaris Insight Center.

With experience in neurology, intensive care, and medical device at Johnson & Johnson, she is a recognized leader in integrative healthcare. Her work bridges neuroscience, women's health, plant medicine, and the healing power of music. Stephanie is also the founder of Beyond Consulting, the Research Director at the Microdosing Collective 501c3, and a prescriber-consultant of psychedelic therapies under Canada's Special Access Program.

Farhad Mohit is a serial entrepreneurial founder with over a billion dollars of exits, including Fliapgram (now TikTok), Shopzilla and BizRate, pioneering advancements in e-commerce and short-form video. He is currently founder and full-time volunteer at GoodParty.org, empowering independent candidates with AI tools and a platform to can run win and serve. He also founded Gifted Savings, a non-profit focused on direct gifting of investment assets and financial education to young people. Farhad is a TED catalyst and serves on the boards of Burning Man and Farhang Foundation. He holds an MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a a double B.S. in Math and Economics from UCLA.

Dr. John Horton is an adult psychiatrist and palliative care physician at UCLA Health and Clinical Instructor of Medicine and Psychiatry at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, where he completed his medical training. He serves as a psychiatrist for patients and their family members at the UCLA Simms-Mann Center for Integrative Oncology and is a supervising physician on the Inpatient Palliative Care Service at both UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center and UCLA Santa Monica Hospital. His practice and clinical interests are centered on easing the distress that emerges around life threatening illnesses, scaling behavioral health support for families facing complex illness and grief, and learning from and teaching the next generation of clinicians. Hopeful for a future with more tools to support patients and their families, he is motivated to support the rigorous and thoughtful growing intersection of psychedelics and palliative care.

Rael Cahn, MD, PhD, is Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry with the USC Department of Psychiatry and Director of the USC Center for Mindfulness Science as well as the Mindfulness and Psychedelic Therapy lab at the USC Brain and Creativity Institute. He is currently running a Mindfulness-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy research project aimed at assessing the complementarity of meditative training and psychedelic therapy and their impact on the experience of self, measures of well-being and neurobiological change.  His research is focused on the neurophysiology, phenomenology and clinical efficacy of mindfulness, meditation, and psychedelic therapies related to the promotion of personal growth and development as well as healing from depression, anxiety, trauma-related and substance use disorders.

1. Am I eligible for ketamine therapy?

Eligibility for ketamine therapy is determined through a comprehensive screening process and a medical intake with Dr. Farzin. This ensures that ketamine therapy is safe and appropriate for your specific needs. Only after this evaluation will you be cleared for treatment. Please note that there is no guarantee of receiving ketamine until this process is complete.

2. Does insurance cover the cost of ketamine therapy?

Our program is currently out-of-pocket, and insurance may not cover the costs. However, we provide an itemized bill that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. We recommend checking with your provider to understand your coverage options.

3. How many ketamine treatments will I need?

The number of ketamine treatments varies depending on individual needs.

We recommend two initial treatments to determine suitability and adjust dosage. After these sessions, additional treatments are available based on your progress and specific requirements.

4. Is ketamine therapy safe?

Yes, ketamine therapy is safe when administered by trained professionals. At Mystic Health, we ensure the highest standard of care, with all treatments conducted by our experienced clinical team in a controlled and supportive environment. 5. Can I experience psychedelic therapy without using ketamine?

Yes, at Mystic Health, we believe in a holistic approach to healing. While ketamine-assisted therapy is one of the modalities we offer, we also provide psychedelic experiences through non-drug methods such as Breathwork and Mindfulness practices. These methods can help facilitate deep states of consciousness, allowing for inner transformation and healing without the use of substances. Dr. Houman Farzin is a physician focusing on the applied sciences of psychedelic-assisted therapies, nutrition, and lifestyle modification for trauma, existential distress, and overall well-being. His practice deals with combining emerging treatments and digital health technologies with mindfulness, music, and psychedelic medicine to improve quality of life, promote healing, and alleviate human suffering at all stages of life. He is an attending physician in the Division of Palliative Care of the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. He is a lecturer at McGill University Medical School, where he earned his medical degree and completed his residency training in Family Medicine. His involvement with McGill Programs in Whole Person Care includes teaching resilience and Mindful Medical Practice to medical students. Dr. Farzin is passionate about indigenous peoples and culture and has spent several years working in rural and remote communities across Canada up to the Arctic Circle. His interest in altered states of consciousness is rooted in Eastern philosophies, as well as the anthropological study of indigenous and other ancient practices around the world. His academic education in psychedelics began while he was an undergraduate student at the University of California, Berkeley. He is trained in various psychedelic therapeutic modalities including MDMA, psilocybin, and ketamine. He is a member of the training and ethics committees for TheraPsil, a non-profit organization dedicated to obtaining legal access to psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. He has organized Quebec’s first psilocybin therapy training programs and has treated the first series of patients with psilocybin and MDMA approved by Health Canada through the public healthcare system in Quebec.

Dr. Farzin is a researcher with current funding to study societal views on psilocybin therapy for existential distress and the use of cannabis and exercise to treat chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, as well as relevant inflammatory, microbiome, and metabolomic changes in this process. He was the Montreal site physician for MAPPUSX, a multi-site open-label extension study of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD, sponsored by the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). Dr. Farzin is a co-founder of injoy (formerly Phyla); a digital health tool that uses artificial intelligence to help people understand how their diet, lifestyle, digestive symptoms, and microbiome are all connected. He is a Panel Physician for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, and has an interest in serving these populations. He holds an M.Sc. from The Institute of Human Nutrition (IHN) of Columbia University and a B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley. In his spare time, he creates music and other art and performs as a DJ.
